Database Administrator (DBA)

We are looking for Database Administrators to join the Infoplaza Technical department to build, scale, and administer database infrastructure with a focus on the performance, availability and growth needs of the company.


  • Be responsible for the architecture, design, availability and performance of our database infrastructure;
  • Improve, optimise and document database administration and data management;
  • Lead incident response, diagnosis and follow-up on system outages or failures across our production infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain troubleshooting documentation;
  • Manage database backup, retention, and restore processes;
  • Actively participate in technical discussions
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure that the entire database environment functions as consistently as possible.

You’ll be working in an international team of up 16 experienced, medior, and junior-level IT specialists. Within our team you will have the freedom to execute on your own ideas, within the scope of the project, and make an impact to the organization.   • Relevant work experience as Database engineer.
  • Advanced level of experience with MySQL, MS SQL and/or Postgres database administration.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and/or English.
  • You possess a problem-solving attitude with a constant eye on delivering the best quality.
  • Living in the Netherlands with a valid work permit (EU citizens are preferred).

Nice to have:
  • Experience with clouds and dockers.
  • Experience with #C or .NET.


The main part of our business is supplying weather forecast services for customers worldwide. Through websites and apps such as Weerplaza and Buienalarm for consumers. In the B2B market we operate globally in a variety of markets on land and at sea, handled 24/7 by our expert team of meteorologists. Infoplaza also offers a range of sophisticated consumer services relating to traffic and public transport, which are designed to help people make easier day-to-day decisions via our sites and apps such as Verkeerplaza, Schwung and OVplaza.

Our technical team ensures that we continue to offer an optimal performance and user experience, even during our peak moments. We process large amounts of data every day, ranging from real time public transport schedules, live lightning strikes on a global scale (±8.000.000 per day worldwide), live global satellite data on our own dishes to meteorological data with over 100.000.000 records per day. This information is processed to both internal systems as well as cloud platforms where it is used by our meteorologists using our in-house developed tools, but also by our clients worldwide As a developer you can be involved in each stage and assist in making the right decisions.


We develop using a wide range of technologies, but most of our work is done in C# and .Net. Additionally, we do our web development using Angular, Javascript and Typescript. Our core systems are written in C#, .Net, Golang, Python, Java and PHP. These systems are deployed as a docker in our rancher cluster. We use a wide range of databases, each chosen to be the best for the job. These databases range from MS SQL, MYSQL and Postgres to Redis and MongoDb. We also develop mobile apps in house, both for iOS (using Objective-C) and Android.
