The Weather Technology (Weathertech) team plays an essential role in this. Whether it concerns the creation or analysis of big data, the development of tooling or the application of techniques such as AI or data assimilation, the Weathertech team is the R&D heart of Infoplaza and responsible for the best imaginable meteorological technology. To expand our Weathertech team we are looking for new colleagues.

• You will work on the latest meteorological techniques, such as making weather models available
and processing and compiling large and innovative datasets to help our customers solve their
• We have a large amount of weather model information, radar and satellite data and meteorological
observations. With your help, we can use expert models to translate this data into target group-
specific information in order to be able to provide our customers with “to the point” advice. You
use statistical analysis, artificial intelligence (AI) or other machine learning techniques for this.
• The meteorological field is constantly innovating – better weather models and new observation
sources become available every year. Together with the Weathertech team, you work on the use of
new weather models, adjusting our APIs and making it possible to present this data graphically.
• You contribute to the development of meteorological tools to be able to verify data sets or to carry
out consultancy assignments with metocean data.
• We demand a lot from our (cloud) Weather computers. Analyzing and improving the efficiency,
stability and scalability of our systems in combination with our Weather technology is part of your
• Devise and elaborate technical solutions and actively participate in technical discussions.
• If necessary, identify and repair malfunctions and bugs in the operational processing of
meteorological data. Prepare and maintain troubleshooting documentation to provide our
administrators with the correct information.

• Completed HBO or WO education in meteorology, earth sciences, mathematics or a related
• Good meteorological knowledge.
• Several years of work experience in scientific programming with geophysical datasets in Python.
• Experience with Matlab.
• Experience with data formats such as NetCDF, HDF5, GRIB.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
• You have a problem-solving attitude with constant attention to delivering the best quality.

Bonus points for:
• Experience with API development (Python or .NET).
• Experience with high performance computing environment.
• Experience with cloud technology (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI).
• Knowledge of CI/CD (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git) and Docker or Kubernetes.

and apps, such as Weeronline, Weerplaza and Buienalarm. This makes us the #1 weather platform in the
Benelux! But we are also active in the B2B market in various sectors worldwide to supply weather-
related information, both on land and at sea. This is provided from Infoplaza Business. Here we help
make our customers decision-making process more efficient during weather sensitive operations.

We are an agile organization, where you as a team estimate what a feasible amount of work is, and work
towards it together. You have daily contact with your team to coordinate what is going well and where
help is needed. We finish features and release them on a regular basis, we don't do big bang releases. If a
customer has a wish, we quickly address it and continue until the customer is satisfied. Our head office is
located in Houten (UT) and we also have an office in Amsterdam.

We develop using a wide range of technologies, but most of our work is done in C# and .Net.
Additionally, we do our web development using Angular, React, Javascript and Typescript. Our core
systems are written in C#, .Net and Python. These systems are deployed as a docker in our rancher
cluster. We use a wide range of databases, each chosen to be the best for the job. These databases
range from MS SQL, MYSQL and Postgres to Redis. We also develop mobile apps in house, both for iOS
and Android.
